KCB 11U team ranked 8th in the Country |
|
After finishing the regular season the Barnstormers 11U team finished with a record of 51-15, and ranked 8th in the country at 11U Major.
They finished in 2nd place in the Blue Valley Gold Gloves 12UAAA/Major division. They won 5 Championships, were runner up 2 times including Memorial Super NIT and earning a berth to Orlando to play in the Elite 32 at the end of July. It has truly been an amazing season for these young boys who worked extremely hard, played with heart and passion and have a love for the game. We were not always the most talented team on the field but won games based our effort, our understanding of the game and playing Barnstormers baseball. 4 of the players on the team had never played at this level before and 1 never played tournaments or competitive ball before this year, but they all worked hard and put in extra time away from practices to prepare themselves to compete. I am very proud of this group of players and how far they have come, but most importantly they all have learned that it's not always the best team that wins, but the team the out hustles and out works the other teams that comes out on top. We will play one more tournament to prepare for Orlando and then it is off to the Elite 32 to play against the top 32 teams in the country and see how the Barnstormers compare with teams from Florida, California, Texas, Oklahoma, etc. It will be a humbling experience and great opportunity for these boys. Thanks to Karl and Ken for all of their time and knowledge that they have shared with this team. |
